From what i have heard on sudden death, from Dr Peter McCullough, expert cardiologist, says that even sub clinical myocarditis (you dont present with major pain to be clinically diagnosed) can leave minor scarring on the heart, that cumulatively scar tissue can interrupt / delay nerve signal in the heart muscle. Can lead to a mistiming of the heart contraction, lead to arrhythmia, and heart attack sudden death. Obviously clinical myocarditis leaves major scaring and a smoking gun.
