I was thinking along these lines.

These viroporins have to be massively genetically-diverse proteins. As far as I can tell they allow travel through the lipid molecules that make up the walls of both cells and viruses.
Yet, BIT225 is a single molecule that can mess with, at least, 4 virus.

I expect, (due to the spike protein addiction of BP), when people think about BIT225 in relation to Covid-19 they consider something like a particularly shaped protein acting as an antibody. Something that attaches to part of a virus protein and prevents it bonding with and/or passing into any cells. In the case of the 'E' protein, blocking a channel that gives access between virus and cell and also allows intercellular movement of invading RNA. I have long thought of it like this and have not looked further.

However, it can't be that simple or it would only be able to target a single type and strain of virus.

Any chance you could give us some way to get a better handle on this?
Maybe a way to viualise what is actually going on with Biotron's Viroporin technology? Something that does not need 6 years of study in a narrow specialisation..?
