I suggest this radio interview has come about simply by the fact of the present HIV conference, as she's the global boss.
Even though she would be well versed in Biotron's work, present trials included, there is no way she would use Biotron's name directly at this present moment because of the commercial sensitivity and the blind trials being conducted etc.
The only part of the interview that I found interesting was her response to the recent exposure of Gilead's "walk slow' approach to release a new HIV drug. She was ignorant of the broader occurrences of such bp activity, but we could imagine a silver lining in it, as if a another new drug appears - think B225 - then bp may not be able to shelve it so easily. Anyway, just a thought.
The trials themselves will be pivotal to Biotrons future, both with HIV and C19. We will all either get 'rich' or crash and burn. These trials are the culmination of all that Biotron has done. If they fail, then grasping at other cures for other diseases would be a trading nightmare. Think of all the previous references they've made to such diseases, but nothing eventuated. It's either now or never, at least as far as I'm concerned. (I almost gave up when CTAP wasn't instigated last year, but only a C19 trial tacked-on to a HIV trial in Thailand that had already began recruiting).
Anyway, but fool me, new trials for both HIV and C19 are well underway. I am quitely confident in the success of both, based on previous trials.
The present C19 trials two primary objectives seem a piece of cake to me considering what we already know.
Primary Objective 1:
Safety profile.
This has already been established from many previous HIV trials. The question is, will the safety profile carry through to Covid patients. It should do, as HIV patients were without side effects, and C19 should not present such a condition in the host where B225 will now produce unwanted side effects.
Primary Objectove 2:
Efficay - nasal viral load, kinetics of change, and time to negative PCR.
Have faith in the mice. Remember those guys. They were engineered to have very high levels of ACE2 receptors, the cells that attract SARS2 (and SARS/MERS). But the mice all lived, bar one. Not only did they all live, gain weight, and go on to live fulfilled lives in a laboratory, but all the adverse C19 markers were greatly reduced. Our human patients are going to be dancing in the halls and eating PCR tests for dinner.
I won't comment the secondary objects, but if you compare those listed cells,the Interlukens etc from the trial design, and compare them to the mice results, you'll see the affinity.
