If BIT225 is proving effective in humans then this complicates matters significantly for the company in terms of potential licensing/deals & structure of Phase 3 trials with a potential BP partner. If COVID trials show promise then further clarity/data on mode of action from all trial data including HIV would guide next steps. IMO this is the most likely reason for delay, not many companies out there would be awaiting 3 Phase 2 data all for the same drug treating multiple viruses. A lot more complicated than folk outside of medical/scientific community would dare to understand.
