rather than thinking in terms of oil & gas as different products of these wells, it might be closer the mark to think of a spectrum of hydrocarbons of progressively heavier weights (longer molecules). The heavier ones will be liquid at normal temperature and pressure. It is quite possible that the heavier ones will seep through this impermeable rock slower than the lighter ones. Only the geologist will know truly what is happening: we can only guess. But it is likely that the new surfaces created by the fraccing will release the spectrum in the proportions reflecting the reserves. Then the HCs have to seep or migrate through the rock under the internal pressure to the surface.
