HAW is truly a strange animal by ASX norms, but I like it that way.

Management has been very prudent with spending. They've never talked big, or splashed cash - TOTALLY the opposite - but they've done well going from their last modest CR around 4c.
HAW had a clear business plan for those CR funds, and they quietly got on and delivered. It's almost run like a family business, with prudent, long term goals, discretion, and a respect for investors cash.
That's the reason HAW sitting on so much cash - and given HAW's modus, they'll have more than enough, after paying out this divi, to fund their proposed expansion of mining operations at Trouser Legs, and then some.
If HAW's mammoth sleeping asset, a 40% share of Mt Bevan, is not simply sold off for a phenomenal bonanza, will be exploited as a JV,
How HAW structure that opportunity is of course entirely up to the board (and major holders), but I wouldn't be at all surprised if HAW avoids share dilution, instead just cutting in operational and financing partners to carry the risk. Family money protected......
I remain in HAW long term - my take is that HAW is well run, misunderstood, and massively undervalued - apart from boredom, there are three triggers that would see me sell - and those triggers range from quite positive to insanely positive.
