    Hi kchil.
My property in Qld. has 29 panels but I do not have a battery setup yet. If I had an EV I could
recharge using solar power between the hours of 8.00AM to 4.00PM IF the sun is shining.

I reckon if you hope to power a unit and run an EV you would need about 20 panels per unit
(or apartment if you like). If you recharge your vehicle between 4.00PM and 8.00AM then
you had better phone the power company and ask them to throw on a few more shovels
full of coal for your EV to recharge.

Battery storage for houses and units is hellishly expensive to set up. A "Tesla Powerwall"
costs $10,000+ for a unit that will store only 12KWh.
That means that you would need at least five of these batteries to recharge the average
EV just the once! The long range Teslas have a 100KWh battery!

Even in Qld battery storage does not make sense. In Melbourne even less so.
Remember also that the electrician is going to cost you quite a few thousand $$
    to setup a useful system.
But hey, when did anything in the RE industry make sense in Australia?
