oh great. I know this is the general forum and not economics but can someone explain to a tax payer (me) why the Government is giving a stimulus like this?

So small business buys more cars? Productive capacity in the middle / end / start of a slump! We have enough productive capacity.

Support the MV industry? Oh pulease. By 2004 (ABS, 9309 & commentary) we made 22% of our own vehicles.

So, not content with sending $1400 cash to overseas pensioners, they are now using our money to prop up the Asian car manufacturers for 4 of every 5 purchases???
