Have a question for debate.

I have 2 kids soon to be 3 (aged 4, 2 and one on the way).

If you were putting away a $10,000 investment (set and forget) for each of your kids to get when they turn 20 or 30 (i haven't decided) what would you put it in.

The reason I ask is we were talking about today how Apple has performed over the last 30 year timeframe and "if" you had bought and not sold down your investment from the 80's would be worth many millions today.

What is today's equivalent?!?!

I was thinking green energy (maybe CFU with fuel cells?) or something similar but I'm interested in any thoughts for any industries.

I'll be interested to see where this discussion might go.
