Rothschild's spies got the news re the battle of Waterloo to him well before the market found out, the market was still shitting nails due to a British coalition defeat just before Waterloo.
Baron Rothschild the British government had a future and loaded up with government bonds at rock bottom prices.
I'm sure the "own blood" he referred to was not his, he was probably referring to the coalition soldier's sort of lower class blood.
The whole story shows the value of good market intelligence rather than a macho approach to falling share prices.
