    It's 9% compound growth over 5 years in EPS and and an even better 12% over 10 years.

    How good is that!

    Despite the pointless pedantry from Madam, you can see it's been pretty good growth in earnings. Not out of the question that we can see $1000 in 10 years. Clearly a plateau point will be reached at some stage, but not yet.

This is not a typo. The Australian share market has effectively lived through an earnings recession over the past twelve years.
