Nearly a quarter of a million dollars worth of fines issued after hoon meet ups

Three hundred hoons will receive whopping fines after the hooligans on wheels swarmed Melbourne’s outer suburbs and caused chaos on the roads in a series of illegal meets, forcing officers to capsicum spray a teenager.

Police have busted up several hoon meets across Melbourne overnight, using capsicum spray and issuing a huge number of fines.More than 300 people attended events across Sunshine West, Tullamarine, Derrimut and Keilor Park.All face the offence of “attending a hoon event”, which carries an $800 fine.In total about $240,000 in fines are set to be issued.
