The uranium needs to be seperated from the gold. This could be one of the reasons why the cash costs are so high here. It would be a much more straight forward and simple process if it were gold only.
Part of the stated reserves also have contained resources of uranium. This means that unless you want to flog off half your gold deposit, you are stuck with the uranium. Would be pretty hard to spin that out.
