Is this not entirely why there have been so called "delays"?
They aren't "delays" at all.
If the study and design of the trial is looking for outcomes that may take time to develop and proper science involves leaving it blinded (until the scientists are happy unblinding won't influence the outcome), would this not just be the normal course of events with such a trial?
Why not leave it to the scientists?
Like I said they aren't looking at a defined endpoint of infection. ie "has the vaccine prevented seroconversion in an HSV2 negative patient".
The trial is in HSV2 positive patients...
They seem to be looking at symptoms of infection and immune responses which may take any number of weeks/months to develop/not develop depending on the power of the study etc etc..
The worry about the "time this is taking" could well be because of the very nature of this virus....
Is it not time for the market to stop this speculation of if/when "why the delay in the results" etc and leave it to the scie
