A high price means that there is a bigger pie to divide along the value chain. Obviously, the businesses that control choke-points along the value chain are usually going to be the ones that take the lion's share of the increased profits, but it is extremely rare for the price of a commodity to go up substantially and for a business that deals in that commodity to see no benefit.
