With the distinct possibility that the Straits of Hormuz could become a conflict zone as Iran apparently is becoming increasingly hostile and ~40% of the mid east oil exports depend on this passage it doesn't bode well for the likes of Australia who due directly to government ( both Labor & Liberal and especially Greens) policy finds itself importing ~90% of it's liquid hydrocarbons with a total stated reserve of ~ 3 weeks. While this points to disasterously (is this a word?) high prices for Australians it could propel share prices for any energy producer thru the roof.
