An analogy on the Victorian gas shortage:

Victorian Govt: We have banned the planting or growing of potatoes!

Victorian farmer: There will be a severe shortage of potatoes and the price will go sky high.

V,G, We'll retain the ban on potatoes. Lets' put it to a vote

Vict. Voter: We're with the Vict. Govt. all the way. We vote to ban potato planting or growing.

RESULT: Severe potato shortage, sky high price, demise of potato farmer.

V.G. SOLUTION: Import potatoes from China which they bought from Qld. potato farmers.
