That is, it is quite possible for a vaccinated youth to have BOTH myocarditis side effects as well as - at the same time - improved protection against death from Covid.

But I grant that the evidence does suggest that, given the extremely low chance of death from covid for teen boys with no underlying conditions (like obesity or asthma) and the low, but slightly higher, chance of myocarditis, then vaccination is appropriately approached with caution.

This would not apply to those with underlying conditions, where covid deaths and serious illness have been common. A bit like chemo - very unpleasant side effects but could save your life.
