To be fair to TP, they will likely make more money over the long run (when repeated over numerous companies) by taking profit. Whilst, there are many that are quietly confident (and some that are not so quiet) that the results of BTX 1801 are going to be positive, TP does not need to worry about that and can be happy that they have made 100% in a short period of time.
Everyone has their own strategies and if it works for them they should stick to it. I have found that my biggest mistakes were made when I didn't stick to my strategies (one of these 'mistakes' was topping up on BOT when it was in the 20's, though I am still hopeful that this will turn out to not be a 'mistake' in the medium term).
