My very first business was a service station and it had been bankrupt so it was a hard slog to get it back so the oil company did a big raffle
They found that there was one quadrant that did not come to my station and they traced it down to a retired bloke who (prior to me ) had come in for mower fuel and been disrespected, and as he walked a lot(no car) he white anted the Station to all he met on his walks
Apparently none of those people came to check for themselves and I know that we gave top service as the station 12 months later was the most profitable in that area of the city

I agree where possible nip it in the bud and redress the false rumors

But that is how most people are made, and it makes me sick when I hear or see it happening
