Santos has received a $1.5 billion binding bid for its West Australian oil and gas assets from Quadrant Energy, according to a Bloomberg report.
The company last week rejected a $5.2 billion takeover offer from Scepter Partners but is said to be considering the Quadrant offer as part of its broader review of its assets.
Bloomberg is also reporting that Japanese trading house Marubeni Corp. is in talks to buy a 3.6 per cent stake in Exxon Mobil’s Papua New Guines LNG plant from Santos for less than $1 billion.
