Selling into the close like that is often the sign of a broker who sells a large parcel for someone, dribbling them onto the market to get a decent price and once the bulk are sold, they blast the dregs out to knock the price down, so that they can show the client how good they were at achieving a much better (than markt) price for the whole parcel. Also gives their broker mates the opportunity to buy some while holders are licking their wounds.

I would consider it very rude if it was one of the broker of one of the (employee) shareholders.
