"The service will launch in the September quarter next year.
But Telstra countered quickly, saying its network would be up and running in July 2005.
"We will have access to a fully optimised working 3G network in five mainland capital cities from July 1, 2005," a Telstra spokesman said.
Telstra will very soon finalise a heads of agreement concluded with Hutchison in August to jointly own and operate Hutchison's existing 3G radio access network and fund future network development."
Looks like 3g is going to be a 2 horse race and so keep competition watchdog happy.
This is possibly reason for price rise in HTA this week. Roll on heads of agreement.
