pump and dump: drive the price up quickly with little price discovery with the expectation that it will peak speculators interest and they will bring in fresh bids above prior lows that can be dumped into to clear a large position. Seeing this a lot these days: mostly by those that can circumvent price manipulation regulations. You can see it clearly on the chart.
