Firstly - this is in the lap of the weather gods. It is not possible to state specifically that the moormaster is needed or not needed, it depends on the timing and lengths of swell periods. I believe that sufficient study would have been was done on historic data to get some idea of the requirements and make the statement that the moormaster is not needed, but you cannot predict the future.
Looking at it simply, starting from a full shed, over a one month period, it would take 8 day (8 ships) with no swell to de-stock shed + hauled in ore.
Over the next 22 days, you need to fill 6 more vessels to get nameplate, taking approx 2 days to supply each vessel.
All depends on the frequency and length of swell events, if anyone has any links to historic data on that let me know.
