Did you really expect them to provide operational data so soon? Yes, MO did agree at the Sydney Roadshow in Sept to publish at least wave correlation graphs for Unit 1 in about Dec. This would have been a very useful and telling piece of information. Hence I more than half expected him to reneg.
Now that the full array is in place the data will be even more meaningful. I can imagine him saying to himself, “Ah, we are on a roll. Everything is working so well that we’ll collect even more statistics so that our numerical confidence figures for the initial trial will be indisputable.” Remember that for any new proposals or negotiations for grants or loans in UK, Chile, Bermuda or RI, the new data is critical. He may want to either put them first into a confidential application document, or announce them with some fanfare at a Wave Energy conference. Competitors are also keenly listening.
