No matter if you think this will work or not short term, this is a clever move and bullish IMO. For one thing it strengthens DHRs legal credibility. i.e -they have shown a willingness to compromise...

Second it is a face saving opportunity for VIC govt.. They would look a little silly going to LKO at this point.

Thirdly this shows LKO firmly believes in the upside of the conventional operations as opposed to legal disputes. A company wanting to get on with the job as opposed to success via litigation.

If the VIC govt stands by NO on conventional drilling well you can't say LKO legal action is cynical.

Gut tells me VIC govt under all sorts of Multifaceted pressure will O. K this pretty quickly
