6.5 billion is nothing for the government - there is plenty more where that came from (ie our pockets). The bigger concern for the gov. is the impact of a collapse on shareholders whom many are coalition voters and how it may impact on the next election. As we have seem this coalition will stoop to anything to win. TAMPA, Interest rates etc. To that end I can envisage them wanting to prop TLS up, but I think its an impossible task.
