Acadia Pharmaceuticals is under fire from CNN again, this time related to a Department of Justice probe into its marketing practices which was revealed by ACAD in a SEC filing last November.

CNN highlights data which shows that Acadia spent more than $8 million on payments to doctors in 2017, including covered meals and travel. Twenty-six doctors received six-figure payments, with the highest paid receiving nearly $200,000.

Acadia CEO, Steve Davis, says that the company is complying with a DOJ civil investigative demand received last September for supply of information and documents related to Nuplazid sales and marketing but that responding to the probe “will require considerable resources.”
