Beam secures $4.2million order from Telstra
Tele-IP Limited announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Beam Communications Pty Ltd, has
received a substantial order from Telstra Corporation.
Following the recent announcement regarding the 2 year extension to the Telstra Preferred Supplier
agreement, Beam has received an order of $4.2million (Inc GST) for Beam designed and manufactured
satellite equipment.
The order is for a range of fixed site terminals, in-vehicle satellite telephones, as well as accessories for
handheld terminals. The major component is the Beam Remote Satellite Terminal that emulates a standard
voice based telephone service over the Iridium satellite network.
Michael Capocchi, General Manager of Beam said, “This major order from Telstra reflects on the
commitment Beam has made over the last 4 years in supporting Telstra’s mobile satellite requirements.
Beam’s leading edge technology, local R&D, as well as our continuing commitment to provide an Australian
