world class resource versus risk

GDY is apparently a world leader in HDR Geothermal, the problem is they are yet to prove they can, 1 -get the water to flow through the granites and recover it from a secondry well. 2 - that the fractures wont silt up and stop the flow.

Yes they have a massive resource but Shale oil in the US is estimated to be over 2 trillion barrels of oil, problem is as yet they cannot extract it economically.

2 issues
1 - as a world leader they have no one to guide them so it may take numerous mistakes and money ie capital raisings to get where they are going.
2 - They are focused on a country that have some of the cheapest electricity prices in the world and no carbon pricing.

I would rather GRK (Green rock Energy) after the current rights issue it will have a market cap around $7mill and $3.5mil of this will be cash. It has a world class HDR resource located within a few kilometers of Olympic Dam and the national electricity grid. Directors are EX WMC people so have a foot in the door.
They are almost as far down the track as GDY.
They have also recognised that electricity prices are much higher and Geothermal energy is subsidised in Europe.
By including conventional Geothermal energy that is proven and the technology is widely available they dramaticaly reduce the risk.
They have been provided with free insurance for their costs from the World Bank, if their current project in Hungary does not live up to expectations. The equivalent of GDY being given all their money back for that well they buggered up.

GDY is make or break
GRK has a lot more upside a lot less risk
