I still think it is an outside chance marihuana will be legalised. Politicians will be even less likely after the 4 corners show. The scale of production is limitless. It will be widely available, with stronger and stronger genetically modified options on the market. Take up age will drop year by year; primary school age kids will be engaging with it in a decade or so via older siblings. Saturation.
Australians are lazy enough already. To compete in the global marketplace we need to be on our game. Not stoned. To compete in education at all level we need to be more switched on than in past decades. Not stoned.
Fast foods outlets (and their longer term health implications) may do well from a stoned society, and sugar producers (and maybe dentists), but that's about it.
Decades of debate will precede the outside chance of legislation. It hasn't worked overseas; won't work here.
Greed of a few doesn't justify the longer term problems.
