although SPH are now legally prevented from soliciting a competing offer, I recall Minmetals stating they had conducted due diligence in April 2010 on "iron ore projects in Mauritania". Also interesting to note Arcelor Mittal has a relationship with SNIM, who JV with SPH at Guelb el Aouj. So I would suspect there are a few players who already have sufficient knowledge of SPH to counter offer without requiring additional information from the SPH board.
