re: alpha..why takeitover when it will fall apart? I agree with you as far as buy in gloom,such as the likes of WES,but not AMP.Cant even compare the two,WES is a well run open company which always keeps its shareholders informed,and has incresed its return to its shareholders for years now.No company can grow like it has forever,there has to be a period of consolidation which WES is going through coupled with other circumstances beyond its control,like drought etc.But all these negatives will go away and it will then resume its growth pattern.So in this case its definitely buy in gloom.But AMP is nothing like this,purely bad management,poor governence,with no solid future in sight,just hypotheticals...why would you buy this one in gloom instead of WES which is sure to give a more sure return.In 5 years time,I would rather have my money in WES than AMP.
