    It's a legal thing. The company has to be very carefull what it says - promoting the company in a 'please explain' letter is frowned upon as it can be seen as 'leading'. If you read the reply closely you will see it's very carefully worded. A key phrase in the reply is 'not aware' which covers them in any given situation.
