You could have used a credit card and paid no interest if you paid that account in full prior to interest occurring.

BNPL'S are product offerings for customers that choose to spread the cost of the purchase over a longer period.

I believe it is absolutely fair for such companies to do this.

it's a bit like me ringing my bank and saying I'd like to buy a house but I don't have enough to pay for it in full and that I'd like to borrow money without interest.

that’s an interesting point you’ve made.
the take now pay later concept, I’m assuming the reason this works well is because the seller is happy to move the product and carry forward outstanding settlements on their books.
obviously this make u wonder how far you can scale this concept
