I wasn't referring to that. On the way the crusaders were initially fed by the hospitality of the Christians. The numbers soon became too big to feed. So iniatially they stole food, but as their trip progressed, they took whatever they felt like. Many, many Christian women were raped, and whenever anyone tried to protest these pillaging or rapes, they were beaten and very often murdered. I did read one article which suggested that the victims along the way were in the tens of thousands. The point being, whilst the crusades started out with the best, though misguided intentions, by the time they reached their destinations they were well and truly a bunch of rabble at best.
