Stockdonkey - maybe equities investment just isn't for you or the "honest gentlemen" you've referred to in you post immediately above. Perhaps a Term Deposit with the Comm Bank may be better suited to your risk profiles.
Consider yourself lucky you weren't an investor in the pre Rae Report era. And if the "honest gentlemen" are so disgusted with all the practices which occur, why have they "traded (on) the ASX for many years"?
