RED (and SLR) had a strong week, in sympathy with the extraordinary rise of the A$POG to yet another all time high - as one can see from the last weeks volume, its relatively modest, with the main action occurring before the 18th March, when RED was elevated into the ASX200.
There is as usual, lots of spurious theories about RED's presence in the ASX200 with its relatively low MC .... but the reality is, that one way or another, RED is now defacto, part of a much larger entity - if another bid doesn't replace SLR, then the merger of SLR and RED will go ahead, creating a new A$2.5bn+ mid-tier gold miner powerhouse.
There will be a torrent of "analysts rerates" after RED publishes its full year report sometime in July, and then RED's new team will go on a victory lap of the major gold miner conferences in September - October ..... if the POG remains ascendant and the market remains intact .... GOK where RED will end up.
For those still peddling the tired old Siana nonsense .... put them on ignore .... If RED's BOD hadn't taken the fork in the road in 2017, (when staring at "dying on the vine") and commenced the "Leonora consolidation" ... then there would be no KOTH, no merger and the creation of the next big mid tier.
Last June, RED was enduring its "sale of the century" SP denouement with its final CR (despite a strong A$POG) ..... what an opportunity .... which SLR BOD clearly recognised .... credit to the much maligned Cool Hand Luke, whose once again has saved SLR.
Mark Williams and his BOD have in 7yrs (which were full of tumult and extraordinary difficulties), transformed RED from a pigmy with no credibility to a golden swan full of potential .... take a bow and enjoy your retirement.
