Hi Spec, I took another look at the reserve statement last year, June 20 2023:
Reserves at KOTH including region + stockpiles = 69.47Mt gives 12.6 year mine life at 5.5Mtpa rate. So at June 30 2024 this will be ~11.6 years reducing to ~9.1 years at 7Mtpa, if I've done my math right.
This is what Silverlake's cash and RED shareholding will be slated for (mill expansion, mine cut-backs). Genesis has its hands full with $500m investment need for its 5 year production outlook, wtf?, requiring debt and hedging. Talk about a merry-go-round... although RF will probably hedge at the next intermediate high given his luck.
McPhil was just a poor example I used as you mentioned its $1b price tag... my point being that the wealth lost to financiers (debt, hedging, cheap equity) is better in the hands of both sets of shareholders, developer and producer. It's not too late for deals, assets are still cheap, and the breakout of $2000 is analogous to that of $1000 in 2009, IMO.
