Buying out the hedges would be considered the dumbest ever move by the directors if the gold price falls back a few $100. The will get limited credit if they do so, unless the gold price rises substantially from here. Balance of probabilities is that downside is more likely that upside when trading at all time high.They are in a catch 22.
