Well, looking back, its easy to be wise in hindsight, but technical traders would be chuckling, because once RED made an all time high then retraced, broke below the "moving average" (a simple stop loss) it became a sell - this was confirmed again when the "bull trap rally" from 35-43c broke down.
So RED has been a technical sell for the last 4 months, and surprise surprise, there was underlying fundamental reasons that are behind a rerate, that as usual, has now morphed into an "oversold" technical situation thats at odds with RED's fundamentals = "cognitive dissonance" - this won't last !
- when the nadir or "bottom formation" is confirmed, VAU will become a strong technical (and fundamental) buy .... backed by VAU's strong fundamental value (POG permitting).
Name changing is NOT inappropriate - name calling is !
IF you're still on board, and you see fundamental value in VAU, then dig in ..... or are you going to be part of the final capitulation that will create a "volume climax" that will signal the technical bottom. Panic selling at "bottoms" is a time honoured way for retail investors to lose big time.
VAU is very cashed up, has no debt and has good ore bodies and well run superb infrastructure, so it's not going broke, and cant be forced into any unfavourable deals by banks or competitors (remember RED has a new banking facility and a rearranged hedging arrangement).
Will VAU be amenable to M&A .... yes, at the right voice wth the right partner .... any unfavourable offer or approach will be rejected by the BOD on behalf of shareholders ....... so, if your still onboard, your craft is seaworthy and well crewed ... so batten down your hatches, stop catastrophising, stop listen to very doom and gloomier, turn off hour computer and go for a walk, enjoy the sun, exercise, read ..... live your life, your only irreplaceable asset.
PS - what do people think RED's SP would be without SLR's money ? After SLR share raid it lost control of the M&A process.
- what do people think SLR SP would be, after the FY'24 report ..... more like 80c than 150c i would suggest
- SLR hard heads realised SLR had to engage in M&A and RED was valuable and vulnerable
- RED is dead, SLR has vanished .... arise the new Vault phoenix
- the only thing that cant be changed is the past - so lets sail the boat we're in ... not some mind fantasy
- if you believe VAU is the "Titanic" abandon ship, but also stop with the endless retrospection that doesn't add useful analysis
