An opinion piece only on my part . The way most governments have been printing money over the past few years one would have to draw the conclusion they have no idea what they are doing or there is someone above governments pulling the strings and have an agenda . Throughout history there has been elite groups that have taken control of the general population and it appears to me this could be happening again. There is a theory that once debt exceeds 77 % of GDP Governments are unable to pay it back,l think presently USA is around 120-130 % of debt to GDP ,not sure of Australia's current level as l track the US and we tend to follow to a large degree ,now if we can take anything from history, with the amount of debt throughout the world ,there should be a move towards a safe haven which has traditionally been gold. The unknown factor is crypto ,whether people will move towards that instead of gold for safety is a real possibility, there are certain advantages but also possible risks involved with crypto,it is a lot easier to transport and to trade in comparison to gold,l am of two minds as to which way it will go,currently l hold gold stock and will continue to,but crypto is coming into the equation. I think red is in a better position to some at the moment and look forward to seeing how current situation pans out.
