I have read your rather verbose ‘apology’ post. May I suggest in the future, when you feel the need to publish an apology post, you restrict it to the immediate matter at hand? A simple, sincere and contrite post without the excuses for yourself and others may suffice. Much of what you wrote in the bulk of the ‘apology’ post is problematic. But I’m not going to dwell on that for now, rather we can discuss it amicably on the forum.

Before I accept your apology, I need you to do three favors for yourself:

1. Write a separate post apologizing to the family of the late Ms Gina Lopez. The criticizing of Ms Lopez has been distressing for them. To ensure you are fully aware, defamation (in this case libel) targeted at a deceased person in the Philippines is also a crime and carries up to 2 year and 4-month prison sentence plus a fine. The current extradition treaty between Australia and the Philippines allows for extradition to proceed in cases that carry a one-year sentence and above.
2. Do the same for Mr Pike in a separate post. I don’t need to repeat what you said about Mr Pike but it carries the same imputation.
3. Finally, try to get some sleep tonight.

Whew, a hair’s breadth from the edge of cliff, but I’m hoping tomorrow will be a fresh start.
