Hey Joe, not faith, just being rationale (though yes... that does not guarantee anything!).
If you were around during the 2005-2014 period, you might remember the huge amount of T/O, Mergers, Deals that occurred in the gold space (and other metals too), many which turned out to be incredibly poorly thought-out or executed.
Some of those MDs are still around, but... I don't believe any that are MDs in the companies I invest or follow closely (mind you I imperfect and some may have slipped through). Mind you, I still view NSTs investment in POGO as a total waste of shareholder capital (many other examples). RRL has invested 100s of millions in their McPhill project, yet.... still has not been developed.
Agree with you about the 'it's different this time' mentality, but that is on retail investors to make sure they keep a close eye on the stocks they hold and the corporate decisions being made.
Interesting moves in the POG, bodes well for RED in the near term and hopefully draws out an even better offer than SLRs.
