Just putting out another random possibility for consideration.... to keep us amused while we wait...

So, if RED holders do believe that the merger is a good thing then they can vote on it (and help to ensure it passes) by purchasing a small tranche of shares in SLR and vote at the scheme meeting, helping to ensure the vote reaches the the '50% of all shareholders in favour' threshold.
Just putting out another random possibility for...
