In this case, energy demand is the tide roaring out and the naked swimmer is the alternative energy crowd. Here in the northeastern US we are being warned about diesel shortages this summer, further exacerbating inflation, and possible rolling brown and black outs in our western and southern states. I filled my truck up this morning at $ 6.01 US for Diesel, about $ 114.00 to fill up as I was low. On top of that we have reduced refining capacity of about 1 million barrels per day. LNG shipping rates are exploding and contracts are being signed far earlier in the year as Europe is desperately trying to make up for shortfalls before next winter. Politicians can talk and talk about green energy, but when their constituents are pissed off, paying most of their income for fuel and dealing with massive inflation they suddenly start looking at the old guard of fossil fuels that keep modern society running.

I think WDS is well positioned due to its LNG access to Asia, great management and solid financials. As with any energy companies, always be aware that they can crater as fast as they go up.
