whilst I take the point of your post Grant it is based on a 'selfish' Australian point of view.
All currencies will eventually be worth less in comparison to the 'metals' so the gold producers will not go bust unless hedging plays a part & any miner who hedged unnecessarily(some have to re bank finance) are heading for 'less profits'.
The world's strongest currency is in deep strife & what follows is what has gone on for 'ions'. As all Empires have fallen by the wayside so to will all fiat paper. Not even a promise to pay on the US notes.
