Welcome all launch day of GLN: Galan Lithium Limited (previously known as DMI: Dempsey Minerals Ltd)

GLN's name pays homage to the volcano Cerro Galan, from which lithium enriched brine flows through GLN's Candelas tenements on the delta that feeds that the Hombre Muerto Salar; arguably the most productive lithium basin in Argentina.

    Company Overview
Galan Lithium Limited (GLN) is an Australian (Perth) based company who’s focus is lithium exploration/development in Argentina’s Hombre Muerto Salar.  GLN was previously called Dempsey Minerals Ltd (DMI), who changed their name in mid August 2018 to reflect their commitment and confidence in their recently acquired Hombre Muerto tenements.

The Hombre Muerto tenements were initially identified and secured by Blue Sky Lithium (BSL), which was established by Juan Pablo Vargas de la Vega (JP), a Chilean born Australian mineral industry professional.  In June 2018 DMI completed the acquisition of BSL, upon which JP was appointed as DMI’s MD and Mr Jinya (Raymond) Liu was appointed as a Non-Exec Director.

    JP’s performance agreement includes:
    - 5m shares upon announcing a 1 Million Tonne LCE JORC,
    - 5m shares upon financial close for a production facility
And includes a condition that these shares will be issued in the event of a take over and subject to a $100m market cap (ie approx $1/share)

    Project Summary
Hombre Muerto Salar is located in Argentina’s North West, and straddles the Salta and Catamarca provinces in Argentina’s lithium triangle.

The Hombre Muerto Salar is arguably the most productive lithium brine basin in Argentina, proven to be low in impurities.  GLN’s tenements on the Salar are adjacent to both Galaxy Resources and FMC Lithium Corp. (*Refer below note on Galaxy selling a northern tenements to POSCO.)

The Cerro Galan is the source of the lithium brine flowing into the Hombre Muerto Salar.  The Cerro Galan is one of the largest exposed volcanic calderas in the world.  GLN’s name honours this Argentinian icon.
For a good post by @mattilla demonstrating the Volcano’s proximity to the salar refer:

For a great posts by @mattilla theorising that the Candelas delta is part of a much larger salar that was covered by a Galan eruption:

GLN has several tenements on the Hombre Muerto.  The main current focus is the Candelas tenements in the south east on the delta that feeds into Galaxy’s project tenements.
ANN 23-07-2018 Hombre Muerto landholding increased, expanded geophys campaign to commence:

Inaugural geophys announced 6 June 2018; “The 5 CSAMT lines show very conductive and shallow units that are compatible with units being saturated with brine, which constitute a great potential for lithium exploration”.
ANN 06-06-2018 CSAMT Geophys survey results confirm extensive brine potential at Hombre Muerto:

Gravity results announced 15 June 2018;  “The salar shows negative contrast values, indicating that the area contains materials of lower density compatible with a basin filled with sediments and a high proportion of fluids” and that “...that the basin could be deep since no high density materials seem to appear to depths of up to 600m, which is congruent with the CSAMT survey”.

    Relevant Information
29 May 2018 - Galaxy announces it is selling it’s northern tenements and retaining their southern tenements, ie those adjacent to GLN’s Candelas tenements.  It is assumed that the brine in Galaxy’s tenements is being filled via brine flowing through GLN’s Candelas tenements.
“Galaxy Resources Limited ("Galaxy" or the "Company") (ASX: GXY) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a non-binding agreement with POSCO to sell a package of tenements located on the northern area of the Salar del Hombre Muerto in Argentina, for cash consideration of US$280 million. The tenement package is situated to the north of Galaxy’s world class Sal de Vida Project (“Sal de Vida” or the “Project in Argentina (see figure 1).
Galaxy retains 100% of the tenements in the southern area of Salar del Hombre Muerto in the Catamarca Province included in the recently announced updated feasibility study for the development of Sal de Vida. The southern tenements contain an estimated 4.09 million tonnes LCE of JORC compliant measured and indicated resource and 100% of the current 1.14 million tonnes LCE of JORC compliant reserves.”
