I did a stint as a loan officer for two mortgage companies , and also sold vehicles for 3 years ,
How Banks and mortgage companies use points for fees that the customer does not see , is far more underhand than what any car salesman does , who in many cases rely on repeat business and word of mouth, so counterproductive to be underhand.
But easy to blame used car salesman/women as there is no warrantee if things go wrong
